Q?

Is the paella cooked from fresh ingredients?

A.

It most certainly is!  A true paella is cooked in a single pan and that's just what we do.  Our chef cooks your paellas from scratch, right in front of your guests.  Feel free to ask questions and take photographs!

Q?

Do you charge extra for wedding catering?

A.

No!  For us, every event we cater for is special, so we approach every function with exactly the same care and attention to detail.   We know it's unusual but we charge the same whether you book your catering for a party, a product launch, a corporate event or a wedding!

Q?

What ingredients do you use in your paella?

A.

All our paellas are made with genuine Calasparra rice, first grade saffron threads and nothing but the finest ingredients.  Check out the details of our 3 best selling paella recipes;  seafood, meat and vegetarian.  We can also adapt recipes, for example, add chicken to our vegetarian paella recipe.

Q?

How far do your travel for catering?

A.

Well, by popular demand, we've catered for events as far North as 1770, as far West as Dalby and as far South as Byron Bay!   More usually we provide catering across the South East Queensland area, cooking paella for all sorts of functions from Noosa to the Gold Coast and beyond.  We are able to travel further afield for a surcharge so contact us for more details if you are outside of our standard areas.

Q?

Are you able to provide a gluten free paella?

A.

Certainly!  In fact, all our paellas are gluten free.  We're very careful about this!

Q?

Can I choose to have more than one type of paella?

A.

We're very happy to provide a choice of paellas!  You can even have a chat with our chef about modifying your favourite so as to accommodate any guests with allergies.  And, there's no extra charge for this service!  Contact us for more details.

Q?

Do you need me to provide anything?

A.

No!  We bring everything we need with us.  We just need access to hand washing facilities.  For evening functions, where you'd like us to set up in an area with little or no lighting, we bring our own cables and spotlights - all we need is a power socket.  If you choose to include tapas in your order, you will need to provide a table upon which we can set the dishes out.

Q?

How much space do you need for catering?

A.

This depends on which pans we're using to cook your paella and how many guests we're catering for.  Obviously, 3 different varieties of paella in our large pans take a bit more room than 2 of the smaller pans.  Somewhere between 2m x 2m and 3.5m x 3m should cover it.

Q?

What time will you arrive?

A.

We will arrive around 90 minutes before the time that you have asked us to serve your paella.   We allow around 30 minutes for a reasonably standard set up where access is no problem and then around an hour to cook your paella.  If you need to adjust your serve time, please give us 24 hours notice.

Q?

How many can you cater for?

A.

We have a huge range of pans, each of which can serve anything from 10 to 200 portions!  We simply use the correct pans for your requirements so we can just about cater for any number of guests from 30 into the several hundreds.  We commonly use 3 pans for larger functions so as to provide one of each of our seafood, meat and vegetarian paellas but for more than 300 guests we are able to call on more than 1 Señor Paella team.  Imagine having 3 of our teams to cater your huge event with 9 delicious pans of paella!

Q?

How is the paella served?

A.

We will serve your guests directly from the pan so that they can can get individual service from chef.  We find that guests love the opportunity to chat to our staff and make their own choice about their meal.  We are able to provide tableware as an extra if required but ask that, where clients provide their own disposable tableware, they take account of the heat of the freshly cooked and served paella.  We strongly advise against plastic or cardboard/paper plates.
